8-Ball Pool
Classic 8-ball & 9-ball billiards vs AI. Sink your balls, then pocket the 8-ball to win!
Aim with mouse · Drag back to set power · Release to shoot
About 8-Ball Pool
8-Ball Pool is the world's most widely played billiards game, found in bars and game rooms on every continent. Play billiards online free in your browser against a smart AI — choose 8-Ball (sink all your designated Solids or Stripes then pocket the 8-ball) or 9-Ball (pot balls 1 through 9 in sequence). The physics engine simulates realistic spin, bank shots, and cue ball position play for an authentic pool experience.
How to Play
Move your mouse around the cue ball to aim the shot line. Drag backward from the cue ball to set power — the further you drag, the harder the strike. Release to shoot. In the spin panel, click above the cue ball dot for topspin (cue ball follows forward), below for backspin (cue ball reverses), or to either side for sidespin (cue ball curves after contact). Ball-in-hand after a foul lets you place the cue ball anywhere on the table.
Tips & Strategies
- Position play wins games: before every shot, visualize where the cue ball will come to rest, not just where the object ball will go — a perfect pot that leaves you snookered costs you the next shot.
- Backspin (draw) is your most important tool for avoiding scratches — aim the cue point low on the cue ball to pull it back after contact and keep it away from pockets.
- Bank shots off the cushion follow the angle-in equals angle-out rule; aim your imaginary reflection point on the rail when a direct line is blocked.
- In 8-Ball, scan the full table before choosing Solids or Stripes — pick the group that has fewer balls clustered together and more clear paths to pockets.
- Playing safe (leaving the cue ball tight behind a cluster) is a legitimate strategy; a well-placed defensive shot forces the AI into a bad position instead of giving it an easy run.
