About Connections
Connections is a word-grouping puzzle popularized by The New York Times. You are given 16 words and must sort them into 4 groups of 4, where each group shares a hidden common theme. Categories range from straightforward (Yellow) to deviously tricky (Purple).
How to Play
Click or tap 4 words you think belong to the same category, then press Submit. If correct, the group is revealed with its color. If wrong, you lose a life. You have 4 lives. Solve all 4 groups to win!
Tips & Strategies
- Start with the category you are most confident about — usually Yellow (easiest).
- Watch out for red herrings: some words could seem to fit multiple groups.
- Use the Shuffle button to spot patterns you may have missed.
- If you are one away, reconsider which of your 4 words might belong elsewhere.
- Purple is always the trickiest — save it for last once the other groups narrow things down.
