About PDF to CSV
PDF to CSV is a free online converter that extracts tabular data from PDF documents and outputs it as comma-separated, semicolon-separated, or tab-delimited CSV format ready for spreadsheet analysis. It previews the first 20 rows before you download, and can optionally split output into one CSV file per page. All processing runs in your browser — files never leave your device, no signup required.
How to Use
Upload a PDF containing tables (up to 50 MB). Select your preferred separator style — Comma for Excel and Google Sheets, Semicolon for European locale spreadsheets, or Tab for TSV format. Optionally enable one CSV file per page for multi-table documents. Click Convert to CSV, review the 20-row preview to verify data quality, then download the complete CSV file.
Common Use Cases
- Accountants and finance teams receiving bank statements, expense reports, or financial summaries as PDF can extract the tabular data to CSV and import it directly into Excel or accounting software for analysis.
- Data analysts working with government or regulatory PDFs that contain statistical tables can extract the raw data to CSV for cleaning, pivoting, and visualization in Python, R, or Power BI.
- Procurement teams receiving vendor price lists or product catalogs in PDF format can convert tables to CSV for easy comparison, sorting, and import into inventory management systems.
- Researchers digitizing tabular data from published PDF papers can convert tables to CSV rather than manually transcribing rows, dramatically reducing data-entry time and transcription errors.
- Business intelligence teams building reporting pipelines can use this free PDF to CSV converter to extract ad-hoc PDF reports when the source system does not provide a direct data export option.
