PDF Background
Add a solid color, image, or another PDF as background behind your document content. Adjust opacity and choose which pages to apply. All processing is done in your browser.
About PDF Background
The PDF Background tool composites a custom background layer behind the existing content of every page in a PDF document, supporting solid colors, JPEG/PNG images, and PDF template files as background sources. Adding branded backgrounds, letterhead, or security patterns to PDFs is standard practice in corporate communications, certificate generation, and confidential document marking. The opacity slider lets you create subtle watermark-style effects or bold full-opacity backgrounds. Your files never leave the browser during processing.
How to Use
Upload your foreground PDF, then choose a background type: solid color (pick any hex color), image (JPEG or PNG up to 10 MB), or PDF template. For image and PDF backgrounds, adjust the opacity slider (0-100%) for the desired transparency effect. Optionally restrict the background to a specific page range. Click Apply Background to composite the layers and download the resulting PDF.
Common Use Cases
- Adding company letterhead imagery as a full-page PDF background to transform plain-text documents into branded correspondence
- Applying semi-transparent DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL watermark patterns at low opacity across all pages of sensitive PDFs
- Adding decorative certificate border backgrounds to PDF awards and course completion certificates
- Branding internal PDF reports with subtle corporate color washes or logo backgrounds at reduced opacity
- Compositing security guild patterns behind legal document text to deter unauthorized photocopying
